| 7 1/4 inch gauge driving truck |
A 7 1/4 inch gauge driving truck, built to the same proportions as "Stafford", with similarly robust engineering - it's built on 6mm laser-cut plate frames, runs on sealed roller bearings and has a disc brake; it weighs in at just under a hundredweight, with the body lifting off which makes getting it in and out of the car somewhat easier.
The footboards hinge up and lock for transport, the brake lever can be fitted either side depending on your dexterity - it's designed to fall comfortably to hand under your thigh when seated normally (and yes, I know the truck below is back-to-front - I only noticed when I looked at the pictures afterwards)..
Ideal partner to a "Stafford", we sold the entire first batch at the London Show in January to people with a wide variety of different engines - basically it's a good size for any of the larger narrow gauge type locomotives, think four inch scale Hunslet, Bagnall, Romulus, plus a plethora of the petrol-hydraulic and battery-electric engines available in this gauge.
