Dogdyke pumping station - July 2009

Dogdyke Pumping Station houses a lovely 1856 beam engine working a scoop wheel pump - it kept the surrounding fen dry from the time it was delivered until the 1940s when replaced with a Ruston diesel, installed in the shed next door. They run both engines once a month in the summer - well worth a visit.
